British motorcycle brand Triumph has increased the price of its popular roadster, the Triumph Speed 400, in India. The new ex-showroom price is now ₹2,50,551, marking a hike of ₹4,334 from the earlier price of ₹2,46,217. Despite the price revision, the bike remains unchanged in terms of design, features, and mechanical specifications.
The Speed 400 is powered by a 398.15cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that delivers 40 horsepower and 37.5 Nm of torque. This engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox, making it suitable for both city rides and highway cruising. It retains its classic-modern styling and is available in four attractive colour options: Racing Yellow, Pearl Metallic White, Phantom Black, and Racing Red.
In terms of ride and handling, the motorcycle features 43mm upside-down (USD) front forks with 140 mm of travel, and a rear monoshock with preload adjustability offering 120 mm of travel. For braking, the Speed 400 is equipped with a 300 mm front disc and a 230 mm rear disc, supported by dual-channel ABS for enhanced safety.
The bike runs on 17-inch cast aluminium alloy wheels, fitted with 110/80 section tyres at the front and 150/70 section at the rear. It weighs 179 kg, has a seat height of 803 mm, and comes with a 13-litre fuel tank. The wheelbase stands at 1,386 mm, providing better road stability.
With its combination of classic design and modern performance, the Triumph Speed 400 continues to be a strong contender in the 400cc segment. Even with the slight price increase, it remains an appealing option for young riders and biking enthusiasts looking for style, comfort, and reliability under ₹3 lakh.
