IndiaAI Launches New Projects

India is taking big steps to make artificial intelligence (AI) safer and more reliable. The IndiaAI Mission has picked five new projects that will help detect deepfakes, reduce bias in AI systems, and test AI security.

Some of the projects include:

  • Saakshya (IIT Jodhpur & IIT Madras) and AI Vishleshak (IIT Mandi & Himachal Pradesh Forensic Services) to detect fake videos, audio, and signatures.
  • Voice Detection System from IIT Kharagpur to spot fake voices in real time.
  • Digital Futures Lab & Karya are working to reduce gender bias in AI for agriculture.
  • Globals ITES & IIIT Dharwad will create tools to check the security of generative AI systems.

Over 400 proposals were received from universities, start-ups, and research organizations. After careful evaluation, these five projects were selected to make AI in India more safe, fair, and secure.

IndiaAI aims to make AI ethical, inclusive, and trustworthy while helping India become a leader in AI technology.
