The Government of India has started a new FASTag Annual Pass Scheme from 15th August 2025. This scheme is for non-commercial vehicles like cars, jeeps, and vans.
The Annual Pass costs ₹3000. With this, a vehicle can travel on all National Highway and National Expressway toll plazas for one year, or up to 200 crossings, whichever comes first. For closed toll systems, entering and exiting through one plaza will count as a single crossing.
The scheme has been introduced to reduce the need for frequent FASTag recharges and to give some relief in toll costs to regular highway users.
At present, this pass is only valid for National Highways and National Expressways. But if state governments want, they can also launch a similar pass for State Highways with full technical support from the Centre.
Apart from this, the Ministry has also revised toll calculation rules. Now, toll on highways with bridges, tunnels, or other structures will be calculated in a fairer way to reduce extra costs for users.
Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, shared this information in the Rajya Sabha.
