WaveX, the startup accelerator under the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, has announced the launch of seven new incubation centers in India. These centers will help young startups in media, entertainment, gaming, animation, and XR (Extended Reality) sectors.
Where the New Centers Are
The centers will open at:
- IIMC Delhi
- IIMC Jammu
- IIMC Dhenkanal (Odisha)
- IIMC Kottayam (Kerala)
- IIMC Amravati (Maharashtra)
- FTII Pune (Maharashtra)
- SRFTI Kolkata (West Bengal)
Earlier, WaveX had only one incubator at IICT, Mumbai. Now, with these seven new centers, more startups across the country can get support.
What Startups Will Get
The startups will have access to:
- Film production and gaming equipment
- High-tech labs and editing studios
- Virtual production stage, VR kits, and gaming consoles
- Co-working spaces, internet, and cloud services
- Guidance from industry experts and mentors
They will also get chances to showcase their work at global events like VivaTech in Paris and Game Developers Conference in the USA.
Support and Opportunities
Startups in these centers will receive help with funding, sales, marketing, and connections with industry leaders. They may also get to work with media units like Doordarshan, All India Radio, and PIB.
How to Apply
Applications are now open at wavex.wavesbazaar.com. Each center will select 15 startups for the first batch. The monthly fee is ₹8,500 plus GST. Startups in the Media-Entertainment and AVGC-XR sectors will be given preference.
