TP Western Odisha Distribution Limited (TPWODL) has launched a Sports Promotion Initiative in Sundargarh under its CSR program, aimed at nurturing young sporting talent and promoting inclusivity in sports.
The initiative was formally inaugurated by Sri Jogesh Kumar Singh, Hon’ble MLA, Sadar Sundargarh at Nuadihi High School playground, in the presence of eminent personalities from Sundargarh and TPWODL officials. The inaugural match was officiated by Shri Durga Madhav Nayak, Match Commissioner, All India Football Federation (AIFF).
The launch ceremony showcased the cultural vibrancy of Sundargarh with a march past, torch lighting, cultural performances, and a welcome song.
Key Highlights of the Initiative:
- Focus sports: Football, Kho-Kho, and Athletics.
- Direct beneficiaries: Around 600 students.
- Special focus on para-athletes, ensuring inclusivity.
- Initial participation from five schools.
- Structured pathway for young athletes to progress to U-14 and U-17 competitions.
Through this initiative, TPWODL seeks to inspire, empower, and create opportunities for Sundargarh’s youth, laying a strong foundation for future champions.
