From today, the new GST (Goods and Services Tax) rates have started across the country. Prime Minister Narendra Modi asked all states to support the idea of Swadeshi by promoting local industries and products.
He said that if we buy and use more goods made in India, it will help small businesses and factories. This will also give more jobs to people and make India’s economy stronger.
The new GST changes are made to simplify the tax system and to reduce the burden on common people in some items. Government has also said that these steps will make it easier for companies to do business.
PM Modi requested everyone to support local manufacturing and stand together to make India self-reliant.
A new change in GST (Goods and Services Tax) has started from today across the country. The government has reduced tax on many daily use items to make them cheaper for people.
Now, most of the daily items will have GST either 0% or 5%. Earlier, many products had higher GST like 12%, 18% or even more. But after this change, people will save money when they buy groceries, medicines, clothes, footwear, insurance, and other important things.
For example:
- Groceries and daily essentials will now have lower GST, helping families save up to 13%.
- Health and life insurance will be cheaper with savings up to 18%.
- Medicines will also cost less, giving savings up to 12%.
- Even stationery, clothes, and footwear are cheaper now.
Apart from daily items, big things like tractors, small cars, bikes, TVs, and air conditioners will also become cheaper as their GST has been reduced.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that with these GST reforms, every family in the country will benefit. He added that this will help the poor, middle class, farmers, women, and students. PM also requested states to support “Swadeshi” and promote local manufacturing.
With the beginning of this “GST Bachat Utsav” on Navratri, the government believes that every home will now have more savings and happiness.
