Focus on future mobility, clean tech, and deep tech

The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, has signed an agreement with Hero MotoCorp to support and scale early-stage startups through its ‘Hero For Startups’ programme.

The initiative, under the Startup India campaign, will help startups working on future mobility, clean technology, and deep technology. Selected startups will get:

  • Access to Hero MotoCorp’s R&D centres in India and Germany
  • Mentorship from experts
  • Opportunities to work on paid Proof of Concepts (PoCs) to test and launch their innovations
  • Connections to Hero’s global dealer and supplier network for market exposure

DPIIT Joint Secretary, Shri Sanjiv, said this partnership will connect industry experience with grassroots innovation, helping startups bring ideas to life faster, especially in emerging technologies and Tier 2/3 cities.

Hero MotoCorp Executive Chairman, Dr. Pawan Munjal, said the company is committed to nation-building and supports the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047. He called India’s startup ecosystem a key driver for a self-reliant and globally competitive country.

The MoU was signed by DPIIT Director Dr. Sumeet Jarangal and Hero MotoCorp’s Global Innovation Portfolio Lead Shri Utkarsh Mishra.

This partnership aims to boost innovation-led industrial growth in line with Make in India, Atmanirbhar Bharat, and Viksit Bharat@2047.
