Yotta launches ‘myShakti’: India’s first sovereign B2C AI chatbot

Yotta launches myShakti

Mumbai, Feb 4

In a major step towards self-reliant AI development, Yotta Data Services has introduced ‘myShakti’, India’s first sovereign B2C generative AI chatbot. The announcement was made on Tuesday, marking a significant push for the ‘Make in India’ initiative and the creation of homegrown AI models.

Built using DeepSeek’s open-source AI model, myShakti operates entirely on Indian servers, ensuring complete data security and sovereignty. This aligns with Union Minister of Railways and Electronics and IT, Ashwini Vaishnaw’s recent vision of launching India’s own indigenous AI model within six months at an affordable cost.

Fully Indigenous and Secure AI Solution

myShakti is a fully self-reliant chatbot that processes all open-source and partnered data on servers located within India. A dedicated team at Yotta developed the AI chatbot in just four days, deploying the DeepSeek model on their NM1 data centre infrastructure.

The AI chatbot is powered by an advanced setup featuring 16 nodes of H100 GPUs, totaling 128 H100s, making it a highly efficient and powerful tool. myShakti is currently in beta and is available for free on a web app.

“With myShakti, we are taking a major step towards India’s AI independence,” said Darshan Hiranandani, CEO of the Hiranandani Group and Chairman & Co-founder of Yotta Data Services. He emphasized that hosting DeepSeek within India ensures full control over AI infrastructure.

Sunil Gupta, CEO & MD of Yotta Data Services, added that the company has been at the forefront of AI innovation in India. The rapid development of myShakti reinforces Yotta’s commitment to making AI accessible, secure, and scalable for all Indians.

India’s Push for Ethical and Secure AI

According to Minister Vaishnaw, India is working towards becoming a trusted hub for ethical AI solutions. The government is setting up an AI Safety Institute, adopting a techno-legal approach to ensure the safe and responsible deployment of AI models.

Over the past 18 months, India has been building a strong AI ecosystem to support its own foundational AI model. With initiatives like myShakti, the country is moving closer to establishing self-sufficient AI solutions while maintaining the highest standards of security and ethics.
