The Central Government will launch a major employment scheme called PM Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana (PM-VBRY) from August 1, 2025. The goal is to generate over 3.5 crore jobs in the next two years, helping both first-time job seekers and employers.

The Union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has approved the scheme with a budget of ₹99,446 crore. Out of the 3.5 crore jobs, around 1.92 crore youth will be getting formal employment for the first time.

Who Will Benefit?

The scheme is designed for:

  • New job seekers, especially young people entering the workforce.
  • Employers, especially in the manufacturing sector, who hire more workers.

Scheme Timeline

  • Valid for jobs created between 1st August 2025 and 31st July 2027.
  • Benefits will continue for 2 years, or up to 4 years in the manufacturing sector.

Scheme Has Two Main Parts

Part A – Support for First-Time Employees

  • New workers registered under EPFO can get up to ₹15,000 in two installments:
    • ₹7,500 after 6 months of continuous work.
    • ₹7,500 after 12 months and a short financial awareness training.
  • A part of the amount will be saved in a fixed deposit to build saving habits.

Part B – Incentives for Employers

  • Employers who hire and retain new employees for at least 6 months will get monthly support:
Employee’s Monthly Salary Support to Employer (Per Month)
Up to ₹10,000 ₹1,000
₹10,001 to ₹20,000 ₹2,000
₹20,001 to ₹1,00,000 ₹3,000
  • Manufacturing companies can get benefits for up to 4 years.
  • Minimum new hires required:
    • 2 employees if the company has less than 50 workers.
    • 5 employees if the company has 50 or more workers.

How Will the Money Be Transferred?

  • First-time employees will get money directly in their Aadhaar-linked bank accounts via DBT.
  • Employers will receive incentives in their PAN-linked business bank accounts.

The PM-VBRY is a big step to boost youth employment and promote industrial growth, especially in the manufacturing sector. By supporting both workers and employers, the government aims to build a stronger, self-reliant, and developed India, a true Viksit Bharat.
