Bhubaneswar, Feb 14
Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) Deemed to be University, Bhubaneswar, has been awarded the ‘Best University for Promotion of Sports’ at the 2025 Sportstar Aces Awards in Mumbai. The award recognizes KIIT’s outstanding efforts in promoting sports and supporting athletes. Dr. Achyuta Samanta, Founder of KIIT & KISS, received the award at the event.
Dr. Samanta thanked Sportstar for selecting KIIT for this honor for the second time, after 2022. Several sports legends, including Viswanathan Anand, attended the ceremony.
KIIT’s Contribution to Sports:
KIIT and its sister organization, KISS, have played a key role in developing sports talent. The university has produced:
- 23 Olympians
- 3 Paralympians
- 11 Arjuna Awardees
- 1 Khel Ratna Awardee
This impressive record caught the attention of the Sportstar Aces Award jury.

KIIT and KISS offer top-quality sports facilities and have trained over 200 athletes who have represented India at the Olympics, Asian Games, and Commonwealth Games, winning medals for the country.
So far, more than 5,000 athletes at regional, national, and international levels have benefited from KIIT’s advanced sports infrastructure and expert coaching.
