The Competition Commission of India (CCI) has approved the acquisition of the Pharma Solutions segment and certain product lines of the Nourish segment of International Flavors & Fragrances Inc. (IFF) by Roquette Frères S.A. (Roquette).
This deal involves Roquette purchasing equity in specific IFF entities that manage these businesses. Roquette, a France-based family-owned company, specializes in plant-based ingredients, excipients, and plant proteins, operating in India through subsidiaries like Crest Cellulose Pvt. Ltd., Sethness-Roquette India Ltd., and Roquette India Pvt. Ltd.
The acquired business, currently under IFF—a U.S. company listed on the New York Stock Exchange—focuses on pharmaceutical excipients and food-related ingredients. The Pharma Solutions segment produces plant-based excipients used in medicines, while the Nourish segment deals with food ingredients such as texturizers and flavors. In India, the Target Business operates through Danisco Nutrition and Biosciences India Private Limited.
