Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) has delivered outstanding results across key production units during the first 11 months of FY 2024-25 (April–February 2025). The plant’s Blast Furnace-1 (BF-1) and Blast Furnace-5 (BF-5) achieved record highs, producing 913,292 tons and 2,847,561 tons of hot metal, respectively. Notably, BF-5 registered an 8.9% growth compared to the same period last year (CPLY).
The state-of-the-art Hot Strip Mill-2 (HSM-2) set a new benchmark by rolling 1,958,063 tons of hot-rolled coils (HRCs), marking an 8.3% increase over CPLY. The Sheet Shearing Line (SSL) and New Plate Mill also posted their best-ever April–February outputs, producing 239,402 tons of HR sheets and 843,856 tons of plates, respectively. Meanwhile, Sinter Plant-III surpassed its previous record, producing 3,382,691 tons of sinter.
February 2025 was a landmark month for RSP, with several units achieving record-breaking monthly performances:
- BF-5 tapped its highest-ever February output with 247,594 tons of hot metal.
- HSM-2 rolled 214,690 tons of HRCs, its best February performance.
- SSL produced 28,043 tons of HR sheets, setting another record.
