Odisha’s Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida announced on Friday that the fourth phase of the first instalment under the Subhadra Yojana will be credited to beneficiaries’ bank accounts by the end of January 2025.
She assured that women who have not yet joined the scheme as eligible beneficiaries still have the opportunity to enroll by updating their KYC (Know Your Customer) details. Parida emphasized that no eligible person will be excluded from receiving benefits.
The Deputy CM highlighted that out of 31,000 women who had earlier opted out of the scheme, 17,000 have rejoined. The remaining 14,000 are unlikely to return, as they may fall outside the scheme’s prescribed income group.
Currently, around 2 lakh women have not updated their KYC information. Parida urged these beneficiaries to complete their KYC process before the fourth instalment is issued to ensure they receive the benefits.
Rejoining and KYC Updates
The Deputy CM revealed that among the 31,000 women who had previously opted out of the scheme, 17,000 have now re-enrolled. However, the remaining 14,000 are unlikely to return as they may exceed the income eligibility criteria.
A major concern highlighted was the pending KYC updates for nearly 2 lakh women. Beneficiaries have been urged to complete their KYC process promptly to avoid missing out on the upcoming instalment.
Inclusive Approach
The Odisha government is committed to ensuring financial inclusivity through the Subhadra Yojana. The provision for re-enrollment and the push for timely KYC updates demonstrate the government’s dedication to reaching every eligible woman under the scheme.
