According to co-founder and CEO Sridhar Vembu, cloud software giant Zoho is probably going to make its maiden foray into eastern Uttar Pradesh this year.
Over 100 million people used the Chennai-based SAAS company’s more than 55 business applications last year.
This year, we are embarking on our first significant rural journey north, to the Eastern UP. I hope that in the next 20 years, we will be able to make a significant impact everywhere. That’s my desire,” Vembu wrote in a post on the X.com social media network.
Vembu expressed his affection for his native land and the nation, stating that “vast talent waiting for opportunity everywhere in Bharat” is India.
“I love our country; although I am particularly proud of my Tamil heritage, I also love all of our states and regions and the rich cultural, spiritual, and historical legacy they represent.”
According to him, Zoho “wants to create world-class R&D capability wherever we go, and scaling up R&D teams is not at all like scaling up manufacturing plants—there is a speed limit to how fast you can do that.”
He reported that business is performing well in Kottarakara, Kerala. Launched in February, the industrial park and R&D center primarily focuses on robots and artificial intelligence. It is anticipated that the center will create about 1,000 jobs in Kerala.
Vembu asserts that upscale IT firms in small towns can play a critical role in assisting in “halting the migration of young people in search of employment abroad.”
In 2011, Zoho opened a rural office in Tenkasi, Tamil Nadu. It began with just ten workers and presently employs 900 experts in a non-urban area, according to reports
