RSP Vigilance Awareness Week

ROURKELA, OCT 28

The observance of Vigilance Awareness Week 2024 at Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) commenced with an inaugural function on Monday at Gopabandhu Auditorium, here.

The dignitaries inaugurated the event by offering floral tributes at the portrait of Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel, the Iron Man of India. This week is observed in honour of Patel’s birth anniversary, with this year’s theme being “Culture of Integrity for Nation’s Prosperity.”

In his address, Tarun Misra emphasized the importance of upholding values in all business aspects, which contribute to the company’s brand image. He urged everyone to foster trust through consistent ethical practices that reflect the highest standards of transparency and responsibility.

Verma spoke about the significance of preventive vigilance. Drawing on examples from Indian history, he encouraged attendees to adopt values that can help eradicate corruption from society.

Behuria remarked that corruption is not a necessity but a mindset that undermines the nation. He stressed the need for ethics and transparency and advocated for increased digitization with minimal human intervention as an effective strategy to curb malpractices.

Tarun Misra administered the Integrity Pledge for Citizens to those present, followed by a screening of a jingle prepared by the Central Vigilance Commission.

At the outset, Praharaj highlighted the crucial role of each individual in building a corruption-free society.
