Vedanta, India’s biggest aluminium producer, has extended its Mobile Health Unit (MHU) services to Kashipur block in Rayagada district, Odisha. This expansion will benefit 21 more villages, providing free healthcare to nearly 10,000 people in remote areas.
Dr. Netrananda Nayak, Head of Kashipur’s Community Health Centre (CHC), expressed his gratitude, saying, “Vedanta’s mobile health service is bringing quality healthcare to people’s doorsteps. This will improve medical access and increase awareness about health.”
Sunil Gupta, Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Vedanta Aluminium, stated, “We believe everyone should have access to good healthcare. Our Mobile Health Units ensure people in far-off areas receive medical help. This initiative will improve the health and well-being of rural communities.”
Currently, over 10,000 people are benefiting from this service, which provides essential healthcare at no cost.
Vedanta is also working on other development projects in Odisha, focusing on education, healthcare, rural infrastructure, jobs, and sports. The company collaborates with local authorities to ensure positive changes in people’s lives.
The Mobile Health Unit is a specially equipped van with doctors, nurses, pharmacists, and medical technicians. It offers free check-ups, blood tests, blood pressure monitoring, and medicines for common illnesses.
This initiative is helping remote communities get the medical care they need without having to travel far.
