During her presentation of the Union Budget to Parliament on Tuesday, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman made a number of land-related reforms and action proposals, including the assignment of a Unique Land Parcel Identification Number (ULPIN) to all rural land.

The 14-digit Special Land Bundle Identification Number is essential for the Computerized India Land Records Modernisation Program (DILRMP) and is concurred to a land package in light of its longitude and scope organizes.

The ULPIN is not only a crucial tool for land administration, property management, and real estate transactions, but it is also designed to make the process of identifying and tracking land parcels easier.

This makes land-related activities more transparent, efficient, and accurate. Through ULPIN, proper land statistics and land accounting will assist in the creation of land banks. The Integrated Land Information Management System (ILIMS) will be the outcome of this.

ULPIN is also being used in Survey of Villages Abadi and Mapping with Improvised Technology in Village Areas (SVAMITVA) in a few states and UTs, including Madhya Pradesh, Ladakh, and Jammu and Kashmir.
