BERHAMPUR, OCT 21
As Cyclone ‘Dana’ approaches the Bay of Bengal, TP Southern Odisha Distribution Limited (TPSODL) has activated its Business Continuity and Disaster Management Plan (BCDMP) to ensure reliable power supply and minimize disruptions.
The BCDMP is equipped with a dedicated Disaster Management Structure, enabling TPSODL to efficiently receive and respond to alerts. A recent mock drill has confirmed the readiness of response teams to handle emergencies. The company has also set up specialized quick-response teams at strategic locations across its service areas.
TPSODL encourages consumers to report any electrical emergencies via their 24×7 helpline at 1912 or 1800-345-6797. In light of the cyclone, the company advises the public to avoid electrical hazards, stay clear of trees during storms, and keep children away from storm drains.
CEO Amit Kumar Garg said, “Our team has proactively implemented measures to safeguard power supply during this critical period. We are working closely with government agencies to mitigate potential damage and ensure minimal disruptions for our customers.”
Preventive maintenance of distribution and primary substations is complete, with essential spare parts and equipment on hand for quick restoration in case of outages. Special teams remain on standby to support emergency services throughout the storm.
