BALASORE, SEP 21
TP Northern Odisha Distribution Limited (TPNODL) has taken a significant step to enhance safety in the region with the inauguration of its new advanced fire extinguishing center. This facility aims to improve emergency response and protect both personnel and infrastructure.
The state-of-the-art center features comprehensive fire detection, alarm systems, and safety station mechanisms. At the heart of this initiative is a water tanker with a substantial capacity of 240,000 litres, equipped with motor and pipe connections that extend from the tanker to the Division office at Balia and nearby facilities. This infrastructure ensures immediate action can be taken in the event of a fire, significantly reducing response times in critical situations.
Upon activation, the fire alarm alerts personnel to the emergency, enabling rapid water deployment from the center to effectively combat fires and protect lives and property.
TPNODL CEO Dwijadas Basak reaffirmed the company’s commitment to safety during the inauguration. “We are proud to enhance our safety protocols with this advanced fire extinguishing center. The recruitment of a fully trained fire safety official to oversee operations underscores our dedication to ensuring a safe environment for all our stakeholders,” he stated.
The inauguration event was attended by key figures including Chief of Operations Nilesh Potphode, Chief of Project Pradeep Kumar Mohanty, Balasore Superintending Engineer Siddharth Shankar Roy, Chief of Vigilance Harish Sharma, HOD of Safety Tapan Kumar Patra, and Jitendra Kumar Sahu.
