TPNODL activates safety measures

BALASORE, OCT 22

TP Northern Odisha Distribution Limited (TPNODL) has implemented its Disaster Management Plan (DMP) in preparation for Cyclone ‘Dana’, ensuring minimal disruption to power supply in Balasore, Bhadrak, and Jajpur Circles. The plan includes real-time weather monitoring, rapid response teams, and a 24×7 Central Control Room in Balasore to coordinate restoration efforts.

Local control rooms have been established to support field teams, while senior officials oversee operations in each Circle and Division. Special precautions are being taken for flood-prone substations, equipped with de-watering pumps to mitigate damage.

TPNODL has also set up emergency helplines (1800-345-6718/1912) for consumers to report power issues. The company urges the public to follow safety tips, including avoiding contact with electrical infrastructure during the storm.

A dedicated Miss Call Number (9777774787) has been introduced for No Power Supply complaints. TPNODL is coordinating with local authorities to ensure safety and prompt restoration of services.

“We have taken all necessary precautions and are closely coordinating with government authorities to safeguard infrastructure and the safety of our customers,” said Dwijadas Basak, CEO – TPNODL.
