PPA Swachhta Hi Seva

PARADIP, SEP 17

The Paradip Port Authority (PPA) has kicked off its observance of “Swachhta Hi Seva” with a Swachhata Pledge administered by DN Sondhi, FA & CAO, PPA. The pledge was taken by Heads of Departments (HoDs) and Deputy HoDs at the PPA Administrative Building.

The Environment Cell of Paradip Port also launched a plantation drive under the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” initiative at Paradip Beach. To promote a plastic-free environment during the ongoing Biswakarma Puja festival, PPA participated in an awareness rally on eco-friendly and plastic-free practices in collaboration with Paradip Municipality. As part of the plastic-free movement, Paradip Saksharata Samiti is distributing reusable cotton bags, and biodegradable plates and glasses to shops and pandals, providing eco-friendly alternatives for festival essentials.

PPA has outlined a comprehensive action plan for the Swachhta Hi Seva period, including an awareness drive among local school students, the display of swachhata awareness hoardings, operation of a Swachhata Rath, and cleaning of pump houses. The plan also features digital displays at key locations in the township, along with human chain and street play programmes.
