A sensitization workshop on the ‘Processing and Execution of Contracts’ was held at the Gopabandhu Auditorium on Friday, organized by the Vigilance Department of Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP). The session was chaired by Alok Verma, Executive Director In-Charge (Works), and attended by senior officials including Biswa Ranjan Palai, Executive Director (Operations), Subrat Praharaj, CGM (Vigilance) & ACVO, along with CGMs, Heads of Departments (HODs), and indentors from RSP.
In his inaugural address, Verma stressed the critical importance of meticulous planning, accurate documentation, and adherence to procedural norms in the processing and execution of contracts. He emphasized that such initiatives are essential to fostering a culture of accountability and professionalism within the plant.
The ACVO provided valuable insights into recurring gaps observed during vigilance reviews, highlighting best practices and preventive measures to mitigate issues related to contract processing. The session included an interactive Q&A, allowing participants to discuss real-time challenges and seek clarifications on key points.
Sandeep Bansal, AGM (Vigilance), gave a detailed presentation on deficiencies in the processing of Purchase Requisitions (PRs), scrutiny of indents, and contract execution. Harish Agarwal, Manager (Vigilance), coordinated the event.
