Union Minister of Ports, Shipping & Waterways, Shri Sarbananda Sonowal, spoke about the important role of women in building the nation at the Foundation Day event of the All-Assam Sonowal Kachari Women’s Association (AASKWA) in Dibrugarh.
He said that a mother’s lap is the world’s best place for learning because mothers teach their children values, courage, and knowledge.
Shri Sonowal praised the government’s efforts to empower women under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership. He said that women are playing a key role in making India a strong and self-reliant nation by contributing to the country’s progress.
Quoting the Rigveda, he explained that mothers guide their children with courage and knowledge. He also said that progress is necessary, but it should be balanced with human values.
He also talked about the importance of balancing technology with human values, saying that progress is not complete without kindness and empathy. He encouraged the Sonowal Kachari community to work hard, improve their skills, and grow through education, culture, and sports.
He said there are no shortcuts to success, and every achievement comes through challenges and dedication. He urged women to take leadership roles in bringing positive change to society.
He also mentioned that millions of women in India have become financially independent, and their contribution is helping the nation grow. He called on women to continue playing a strong role in making India a developed country by 2047.
The event was attended by many important personalities, including Rashmirekha Sonowal, Jyotsna Sonowal, Dr. Shrutidhara Mahanta, and Devananda Chelleng, along with community members and local residents, who appreciated the minister’s message of empowerment and growth.
