ROURKELA, SEP 2
Bolani Ores Mines (BOM), part of the Odisha Group of Mines (OGoM) under SAIL’s Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP), achieved a record-breaking monthly dispatch of 7.20 lakh tonnes of iron ore in August 2024. This surpasses their previous record of 7.17 lakh tonnes set in March 2021. In addition, BOM achieved its highest-ever fines dispatch of 4.83 lakh tonnes, improving upon the previous best of 3.71 lakh tonnes recorded in August 2023.
The Mines also dispatched 57 rakes of fines for conversion into pellets and began sending dump fines by rake for beneficiation and subsequent pellet production at RSP. This outstanding performance reflects the dedication of the BOM team, supported by the Raw Materials Group and the Rail Movement Cell, under the leadership of Alok Verma, ED (Mines), and Joydev Chattopadhyay, CGM (BOM).
RSP Director In-Charge Atanu Bhowmick commended the Mines team for their exceptional achievement and urged them to maintain their high performance with a continued focus on safety and quality.
