In a move to enhance healthcare and emergency transportation facilities, two new Mahindra NEO model Ambulances were inaugurated by Alok Verma, ED (Mines) with additional charge of ED (Works) and handed over to Dr. Jayant Acharya, CMO In-Charge, (M&HS) on Tuesday in a ceremony organized at the FMM (Field Machinery & Maintenance) Department of SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP).

The newly procured ambulances, each costing Rs.12.6 lakhs, were acquired through the Government e-Marketplace (GeM) portal. The spacious ambulances come equipped with advanced features such as stretchers and inbuilt air conditioning systems to ensure maximum comfort for both patients and operators during transportation. These ambulances will replace the older fleet of written-off vehicles at OHSC (Occupational Health Services Centre) and Fertilizer Hospital, further improving patient care and emergency transportation services.

RN Rajendran, CGM (Mechanical), MNVS Prabhakar, CGM (Services), TP Sivasankar, CGM, (SMS-II), Sumit Kumar, CGM, (Blast Furnace), Abakash Mallick, GM In-Charge, (FM(M) & Transport), and other senior officials of the plant were among the prominent persons present on the occasion.
