RSP presents ‘Ispat Bindhani’ award to former employees

At a grand Samman Samaroh organized by Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) at the Civic Centre, 12 former employees who joined the Steel Plant in 1960 were honoured with the “Ispat Bindhani Samman-2024” in celebration of the country’s 78th Independence Day. These pioneers, who laid the foundation for RSP in the rugged hills of Rourkela during the early 1960s, have witnessed their efforts bloom into a monumental success, significantly contributing to national progress and providing sustenance to millions.

RSP Director In-charge Atanu Bhowmick presented the awards to these esteemed individuals, acknowledging their vital role in shaping the Shilpa Konark of Odisha. The honoured employees were RK Tripathy, GC Naik, CS Mohapatra, GB Parida, Umakanta Mahapatra, Gurucharan Sahoo, Kishore Chandra Nanda, Radha Krushna Panda, RC Mohanty, Arakhita Panigrahi, GC Patnaik, and Durga Charan Mohanty.

Bhowmick praised the contributions of these veterans, stating, “The RSP we have today stands tall with all its glory and grandeur because of the hard work, dedication, and commitment of these earlier generations. Their legacy will continue to guide Rourkela Steel Plant into the future.”

Honouring the unwavering spirit of these pioneers made this Independence Day particularly special.
