The Ministry of Coal is set to organize a roadshow in Mumbai as part of its ongoing efforts to showcase investment opportunities in the coal sector and highlight prospects in commercial coal mine auctions. Expanding Opportunities in Commercial Coal Mining
The introduction of commercial coal mining has revolutionized the sector, unlocking new growth opportunities and driving India towards energy self-reliance. Since the launch of commercial coal auctions on June 18, 2020, the industry has made significant strides. With 10 successful auction rounds, 113 coal mines have been allocated, with a combined Peak Rated Capacity (PRC) of approximately 257.60 MTPA.
To build on this success and boost industry participation, the Ministry of Coal has initiated a series of roadshows across India. Following an overwhelming response in Kolkata, the initiative now moves to Mumbai, followed by Ahmedabad, expanding the scope of industry engagement. These events provide a platform for investors and stakeholders to gain insights into upcoming auctions, policy reforms, business-friendly initiatives, and financial incentives designed to attract investments.
