ROURKELA, SEP 10
A preventive health check-up camp was organized for 75 contract workers employed in the Town Engineering, Town Services, Horticulture, and Medical & Health Services Departments at Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP). The camp, held at the Town Engineering Conference Hall on Monday, was coordinated by the HR – Contract Labour Cell in collaboration with the ESI Model Hospital.
Doctors and technicians from the ESI Corporation conducted a range of health assessments. This camp specifically targeted contract workers aged 40 and above.
PK Swain, CGM In-Charge (TA & CSR), along with other senior officers, attended the event. Swain lauded the initiative, underscoring the importance of regular health check-ups in maintaining workforce well-being and enhancing productivity.
The health check-up included tests such as Body Mass Index, height, weight, haemoglobin levels, blood pressure, random blood sugar, blood grouping, as well as general assessments like hearing and pulse rate. These evaluations aimed to identify and prevent potential health issues, ensuring that workers remain fit and capable of optimal performance.
Workers completed a survey form, and based on their responses, some were referred to the ESI Hospital for further evaluation and treatment.
The event was coordinated by Rajib Mukherjee, Senior Manager (HR – CLC), and the CLC Collective.
