The 7-A-Side Departmental Football Tournament 2024 at NTPC Bongaigaon wrapped up with an exhilarating final match on Tuesday, where Operation Thunders clinched the title with a narrow 1-0 victory over Operation Strikers. The ten-day tournament, which saw participation from eight teams, celebrated teamwork and sportsmanship among NTPC employees.
The final was graced by Akhilesh Singh, Head of Project, NTPC Bongaigaon, who commended the event for fostering unity and camaraderie. “This tournament symbolizes more than just competition; it strengthens our bonds and promotes a healthy, dynamic workplace,” Singh remarked.
The tournament also featured a plank challenge, with Hiranmay Mishra emerging as the top performer. Trophies and medals were awarded by Debabrata Kar, GM (O&M), who praised the Sports Council for their role in organizing the event and enhancing township life.
The tournament, which involved over 150 employees, concluded with spirited celebrations, reinforcing NTPC Bongaigaon’s commitment to employee engagement and wellness.
