Oyster mushrooms can now be grown by the country’s farmers using a low-cost machine powered by solar energy. This machine can be used at both rural and urban levels. With the help of this machine, less space is required to grow mushrooms.
In India, the demand for mushrooms is rapidly rising right now. Earlier it was limited to urban people, but now it has reached every village. Mushroom that is referred to in regional languages as Khumb, Garjana, and Dharti ke phool, among other names. Due to its nutritional elements and many other properties, it is called the food of God in Rome. It is also called the queen of vegetables. Mushroom consumption was limited to only a few parts of the world. However, this consumption is now on the rise almost everywhere with time. Due to which the farmers cultivating it are also getting good profits.
In such a situation, if you also want to earn profit by cultivating mushrooms, then now you can grow mushrooms in this solar-powered machine. Farmers will benefit greatly from the low cost of farming with this machine. Let us know how to grow mushrooms in this solar-powered machine.
Bumper production at low cost
Oyster mushrooms can now be grown by the country’s farmers using a low-cost machine powered by solar energy. This machine can be used at both rural and urban levels. Actually, at present most of the farmers adopt many different techniques to grow mushrooms. But now farmers can produce bumper production of mushrooms by using this new machine.
The cost of this newly designed mobile chamber machine is lower than growing mushrooms in a permanent way and even during non-favorable conditions like the months of April and May, the mobile chamber machine is better for growing mushrooms.
Because this machine requires less space to grow mushrooms, its maintenance is simple, and adopting this technology is less expensive. Additionally, this technology will not only help in mushroom cultivation but will also help the needy farmers in making and selling units.
How does this machine work?
When it comes to the machine’s structure, the size of its growing chamber is 1.35 x 0.93 x 1.69 meters, which is made of 1 CPVC pipe and fitting. It is covered with nylon net to protect it from entry of insects. This is covered further. Besides, sack has been installed all around it which works to maintain moisture inside the chamber.
This machine can be run on electricity or by using 300 watt solar panel, inverter and 12V battery. Apart from this, solar panels are mounted on the roof of the frame and inverter and battery are mounted in the frame.
Know how much yield it gives
In this new technology machine, two varieties of oyster like Elm oyster and White oyster mushroom can be grown every month in both the harvest chamber and the outer chamber. Let us tell you that on an average, the yield of elm oyster in the mobile chamber is 108 percent more as compared to the yield in the cropping room. Similarly, the yield of white mushroom is 51 percent higher. The average yield of mushroom in this machine is 25-28 kg per month.
