Centurion University successfully hosted the National Conference on “Frontiers in Genetics and Genomics” (NCFGG 2025) on February 20–21. The event, sponsored by DST-ANRF and supported by Genotypic Technology Pvt. Ltd., Bengaluru, brought together experts from research and industry to discuss new developments in genome sequencing, gene editing, and related fields.

“This conference provided an important platform for experts and researchers to share knowledge on key advancements in genetics and genomics. The ideas exchanged here will help shape future research and applications,” said Prof. (Dr.) Supriya Pattanayak, Vice Chancellor of Centurion University, Odisha.

Notable speakers included Chief Guest Prof. Arjula Ramachandra Reddy, former Professor at the University of Hyderabad and Founder Vice Chancellor of Yogi Vemana University, along with Guest of Honour Prof. BP Acharya, IAS (Retd.), Special Chief Secretary of Telangana.

Dr. Raja Mugasimangalam, Founder & CEO of Genotypic Technology, emphasized how genomics is transforming fields like agriculture, healthcare, and biotechnology.

“Advances in genome sequencing and gene engineering are changing how we understand biology. This conference was a great opportunity to explore these innovations and their practical uses,” said Dr. Mugasimangalam.

A key moment of the event was the release of the NCFGG 2025 Book of Abstracts, showcasing the research presented.

The conference featured discussions on topics such as breeding techniques, genome editing, and new sequencing technologies. Experts also talked about partnerships between industries and research institutions and the role of entrepreneurship in genetics.
