Modi PM Awas Subhadra Yojana

Bhubaneswar, Sept 17

In preparation for PM Narendra Modi’s arrival on Tuesday, the Odisha government on Sunday declared a vacation for all schools and colleges in the Bhubaneswar metropolitan area. Today, the prime minister will introduce the Subhadra Yojana in Bhubaneswar.

As for this event, there will be a huge public meeting in the city. So keeping this in view, the state government has decided to completely close the schools and colleges. Moreover, the government offices will be closed for the first half.

‘No flying zone’ and ‘No drone zone’ in Janata Maidan have been declared by the state government. Today, in between 12:00 hrs and 13:00 hrs, the scheme will be launched by PM Modi. The Odisha Police have put in place strict security measures both inside and outside the venue.

During his visit to Bhubaneswar on Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to launch the much-anticipated “Subhadra Yojana,” an ambitious women empowerment initiative of the Odisha government.

The PM’s schedule includes the inauguration of 26 lakh PM Awas Yojana residences in the city’s slum district of Gadakana. The official schedule states that PM Modi would land at the airport in Bhubaneswar at 10.50 am and travel straight to the city’s Gadakana, where he should reach by 11.10 am.

The Prime Minister will speak with recipients of the PM Awas Yojana, a program designed to give urban poor people access to affordable homes, during his 35-minute visit. After that, he will go to Janata Maidan to publicly announce the Subhadra Yojana at 11:55 a.m.

The Subhadra Yojana will be financed in large part by the Odisha government’s allocation of Rs 20,000 crore in its 2024–25 annual budget. Women who earn less than Rs 1,800 a year will be eligible for financial aid under this plan, which will help them improve their financial situation. The initiative is set up to release monies twice a year, on March 8th, International Women’s Day, and on Raksha Bandhan.

According to Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida, the Subhadra Yojana will help about one crore women.

According to Parida, “this is a historic program that attempts to uplift women from economically disadvantaged backgrounds, guaranteeing financial stability and empowerment.”

More than 50 lakh women are scheduled to get the first portion of Rs 5,000 as part of the initiative on Tuesday. Nine equal payments totaling Rs 45,000 will be made over the course of the next five years.

65 lakh women have registered to receive assistance under the Subhadra Yojana as of Monday evening.

We are nearing the end of the Prime Minister’s visit preparations. All around the city, security has been tightened, but especially along the routes leading from the airport to Gadakana and Janata Maidan, which have been designated as no-fly zones.

With 11 Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs), 22 Additional DCPs, 66 Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs), 100 Inspectors-in-Charge (IICs), and 300 senior police officials on duty, a strong security structure has been put in place. To further guarantee security, 81 police platoons, 500 home guards, and three units of the Odisha Disaster Rapid Action Force (ODRAF) and Special Task Force (STF) will be sent in.

The PM Awas Yojana beneficiaries’ houses in Gadakana are nearing completion, as is the Bhagabata Tungi, a community area that will provide the Prime Minister’s meeting place with the locals. The Subhadra Yojana’s introduction is anticipated to have a major socioeconomic impact, empowering women throughout Odisha and enhancing the state’s current welfare programs.
