Cybersecurity platform CrowdStrike said on Friday that it is actively assisting customers affected by a flaw discovered in a single content update for Windows hosts, even as the Microsoft Windows catastrophe caused chaos throughout the world.
According to the company, Linux and Apple Mac hosts are unaffected.
In a post on X, CrowdStrike’s president and CEO, George Kurtz, stated that this is neither a security breach or cyberattack.
“A solution has been implemented after the problem was located, isolated, and fixed. We will keep providing thorough and ongoing updates on our website and point clients to the support portal for the most recent information,” he stated.
Millions of customers worldwide, including those in India, have been impacted by Microsoft’s ongoing global outage, which has had a significant negative impact on airline and airport services.
The “Blue Screen of Death” problem is causing millions of Microsoft Windows users’ PCs to restart or shut down.
“We are aware of an issue affecting Windows devices due to an update from a third-party software platform,” a Microsoft official stated. Microsoft stated, “We anticipate a resolution is forthcoming.”
