Mercedes-Benz is moving towards an electric future with new car launches to compete with Tesla and BMW. The company will introduce an electric E-Class in 2027 and electric versions of the GLC and C-Class in 2026. Along with these, Mercedes is also updating its luxury S-Class and bringing a smaller version of the G-Class SUV. With these new models, the company aims to offer more choices for customers looking for modern and eco-friendly cars.
Mercedes E-Class EV Coming in 2027
Mercedes-Benz has announced that a fully electric version of the E-Class will be available by 2027. This electric sedan will compete with Tesla and BMW, offering advanced technology and a longer driving range. It is expected to be larger than the current petrol and diesel E-Class models and could replace the EQE Sedan. The launch in India might happen later.
Facelifted S-Class in 2026, Electric Version by 2030
Mercedes is updating its S-Class luxury sedan with new technology and design changes in 2026. However, the engine options will remain the same. The current models, S 350d (diesel) and S 450 (petrol), cost Rs 1.79 crore and Rs 1.89 crore, respectively, and prices may increase slightly with the update. The company is also working on an electric S-Class, set to launch by 2030.
Smaller G-Class SUV in the Works
Mercedes is planning a compact version of its G-Class SUV. This smaller model will be available with petrol, diesel, and fully electric powertrains. It may also be offered as a plug-in hybrid in some markets. To differentiate it from the standard G-Class, this new model will be called ‘g’ instead of ‘G.’. Currently, the electric G-Class, named G 580, costs Rs 3 crore, while the AMG G 63 is priced at Rs 3.64 crore.
Mercedes GLC EV and C-Class EV Coming in 2026
Mercedes will introduce electric versions of the GLC SUV and C-Class sedan in 2026. These models will be part of the brand’s premium segment and may use the same platform as the upcoming CLA electric sedan.
In the coming years, Mercedes-Benz is expanding its electric and luxury car lineup, bringing and offering more options for customers who would prefer and want advanced technology and eco-friendly vehicles.
