Maruti Suzuki, one of India’s leading automakers, has announced its plans to introduce four new electric vehicles (EVs) by 2030 under its ‘Mid Term Management Plan’ for FY 2025-2030. The first of these will be the Maruti e Vitara, with three more models to follow in the coming years.

e Vitara: Maruti’s First Electric SUV

The Maruti e Vitara will be the company’s first fully electric vehicle in India. Though official variant details are yet to be confirmed, leaks suggest it will come in three versions: Delta, Zeta, and Alpha. The SUV features a bold design with Y-shaped LED DRLs, a gloss black grille, aggressive bumpers with fog lights, 18-inch alloy wheels, and connected LED tail lights.

The e Vitara will be available with two battery options: a 49 kWh and a 61 kWh pack, offering a claimed range of over 500 km. It supports 7 kW AC charging and up to 70 kW DC fast charging.

Inside, the SUV boasts a minimalist dashboard with dual screens—a 10.25-inch touchscreen and a 10.1-inch digital driver’s display. Other premium features include a 10-way powered driver’s seat, multi-color ambient lighting, and a fixed glass roof. For safety, it comes equipped with seven airbags and Maruti’s first Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS).

Upcoming EVs

Besides the e Vitara, Maruti plans to launch three more EVs by 2030. One of these could be an entry-level model competing with the Tata Tiago EV and MG Comet EV, while details of the other two remain undisclosed.

Maruti’s Expansion Plans

To support its growing EV lineup, Maruti Suzuki aims to increase its annual production capacity to 4 million units by 2030. This expansion will include its manufacturing facilities in Khadkhoda and Gujarat.
