Lulu Group, a major retail company from the Middle East, is expanding its sourcing operations in Odisha. The company signed an agreement with Odisha-based Highland Group at Gulfood 2025 in Dubai to increase agricultural and seafood exports.
A team from Lulu Group will visit Odisha on Monday to explore sourcing opportunities and inspect production facilities.
The agreement was signed by Saleem VI, COO of Lulu Group, and Pratik Jena, MD of Highland Group, in the presence of Lulu Group Chairman Yusuffali MA and senior executives.
Lulu Group operates 257 hypermarkets and supermarkets, serving 650,000 shoppers daily and generating an annual revenue of over $8 billion.
“We see great potential in Odisha for sourcing high-quality agricultural products. Our team will visit soon, and we will start sourcing immediately,” said Yusuffali MA.
Besides sourcing, Lulu Group is also considering opening shopping malls and hypermarkets in Odisha, expanding its presence in India.
Highland Group Chairman Rabindra Jena said, “We are proud to collaborate with Lulu Group and committed to supporting Odisha’s economic growth, especially in agriculture.”
