Bhubaneswar, Sept 14
The Leadres’ XI won the friendly football tournament organized by Tata Steel at Odisha Football Academy here today. It defeated the Officers’ XI in the final match.
Media XI and Tata Steel XI were other two teams that participated in this fun-filled tournament which has become an annual event by the steel behemoth, Tata Steel.
Gracing the occasion Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi gave away the prizes to the winners.
Earlier inaugurating the tournament the Deputy Chief Minister and Minister of Women and Child Development, Mission Shakti and Tourism Pravati Parida encouraged the players and expressed her happiness for taking time out from her busy schedule to watch such an exciting football tournament.
She said that this friendly tournament will instil unity and brotherhood in everyone’s mind. Stating that there is a great need for cooperation and collaboration of government officials, media and corporate employees in building a prosperous Odisha, Parida hoped that this tournament would inspire them to work together.
