BHUBANESWAR, OCT 21

The Jindal Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Jindal Steel & Power, commemorated Seva Divas nationwide to celebrate the birthday of its chairperson, Shallu Jindal, a distinguished philanthropist, social leader, and Kuchipudi danseuse.

The day was dedicated to reaffirming the Foundation’s mission of fostering an inclusive India, focusing on uplifting underprivileged and vulnerable communities to lead lives of dignity and fulfillment. Across various states, Jindal Foundation institutions organized a multitude of social initiatives, reflecting Smt. Jindal’s commitment to empower communities and address the pressing needs of the marginalized.

Expressing her gratitude to the community service partners through an inspiring message, Smt. Jindal said, “I am truly thankful for your warm wishes and the dedicated service activities honouring my birthday. Your support strengthens my resolve to work even harder for societal betterment. Together, we can create a positive impact and bring smiles to those in need.”

Throughout Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Andhra Pradesh, Haryana, and beyond, the Foundation facilitated medical camps, veterinary health services, and nutrition support for senior citizens, hospital patients, and children in care homes.

In a concerted effort to restore ecological balance, community volunteers, students from OP Jindal University, and eco leaders planted thousands of trees. The Foundation also provided mosquito nets and blankets to underprivileged families.

The OP Jindal Hospitals in Chhattisgarh reaffirmed their commitment to accessible healthcare, hosting multiple camps in senior citizen homes, orphanages, and shelters.

Meanwhile, OP Jindal Schools in Raigarh, Angul, Patratu, and Barbil led tree plantation drives, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan initiatives, and organized creative arts activities while providing food and clothing to orphanages and hospitals.

In tribal areas such as Tensa and Kasia, the Foundation organized friendly football matches for local youth and dedicated a new ambulance to serve these communities. Children from the Jindal Sports Hostel in tribal-dominated Deojhar and Barbil engaged in creative endeavours, including a poster-making competition, to honour Smt. Jindal.

Additional events included Nukkad Nataks promoting skill development, community property repairs led by Skill Centre students, health check-ups at orphanages, and sports training camps, all reflecting values of teamwork and service.

These initiatives nationwide celebrated Shallu Jindal’s vision of community empowerment and compassion, embodying her birthday with acts of kindness and selflessness.

In addition to her role at the Jindal Foundation, which has positively impacted 15 million lives through diverse social upliftment programs, Smt.
