In a concerted effort to strengthen community engagement and promote cleanliness, East Coast Railway (ECoR) launched the Jan Bhagidari programme at several key railway stations across the region. This initiative underscores the theme “Swachhata Hi Seva” (Cleanliness is Service), reflecting ECoR’s commitment to public welfare and environmental sustainability.

East Coast Railway General Manager Parmeshwar Funkwal participated in the Jan Bhagidari programme at Bhubaneswar Railway Station, actively engaging with stakeholders and community members. His involvement in the accompanying cleanliness drive highlighted the importance of collaborative efforts in maintaining hygiene and sanitation in public spaces.

Additional General Manager Mohes Kumar Behera represented ECoR at Puri Railway Station, while Senior Deputy General Manager BK Mishra took part in similar activities at Cuttack Railway Station. Their leadership emphasized the railway’s dedication to fostering community involvement and environmental responsibility.

The Jan Bhagidari programme also saw participation from various stakeholders and NGOs, who made significant contributions to the activities at different railway stations. This collaboration aims to create a cleaner and more engaging environment for passengers and the public.

Through initiatives like Jan Bhagidari and the Swachhata Abhiyan, ECoR continues to promote a culture of cleanliness and community participation, ensuring that railway stations serve not only as transportation hubs but also as sources of pride for the communities they serve.
