The Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DOT) has teamed up with the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) to boost 6G research by developing essential hardware.

As part of this collaboration, C-DOT and IIT Delhi have signed an agreement to work on “Building Blocks for THz Communication Front Ends” under the Telecom Technology Development Fund’s (TTDF) 6G initiative.

The project aims to develop core devices and components required for THz systems, critical for 6G communications and other applications like military systems and material analysis.

The initiative aligns with the Bharat 6G Vision, which focuses on creating advanced, secure, and intelligent networks for enhanced connectivity and quality of life.

The project will establish the foundation for producing THz components on a large scale by utilizing IIT Delhi’s expertise in partnership with SAMEER Kolkata.

Dr. Rajkumar Upadhyay, CEO of C-DOT, referred to this partnership as a turning point in realizing the Bharat 6G Vision, highlighting its contribution to innovation and allowing India to produce advanced microelectronic components on its own for the first time.
