In a recent operation called ‘Operation Sindoor’, the Indian Armed Forces carried out precise strikes on terrorist camps located in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK). These places were believed to be used to plan attacks against India.
A total of nine locations were targeted in the strike. The operation lasted only 25 minutes, during which the forces launched 24 missiles at nine different locations. Reports suggest that around 70 terrorists were killed in the strike. Importantly, no Pakistani military installations were targeted, as India aimed to send a strong but controlled message, avoiding any unnecessary escalation.
The Indian government clarified that this action was carefully planned and controlled. The strikes did not target any Pakistani military sites, showing that India acted with restraint and avoided actions that could worsen tensions.
This move comes after the brutal terrorist attack in Pahalgam, where 25 Indian citizens and one Nepali were killed. India had promised to take strong action, and this operation is part of that response.
According to an NDTV report, the Indian Armed Forces used advanced weapons like SCALP and HAMMER missiles during the mission. These precision-guided missiles helped ensure the targets were hit accurately, minimizing any risk to civilians.
Officials stated that this was a non-escalatory operation, meaning it was designed to punish the terrorists without provoking wider conflict. India took care to avoid hitting any regular Pakistani army bases.
A detailed briefing from the government is expected later today.
