Government focused on improving business environment: Piyush Goyal

Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal has assured that the government is working to create a better business environment, ensure stable regulations, and make it easier for companies to do business in India. Speaking at the Pune International Business Summit 2025, he highlighted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent visits to the USA and France have helped attract more investments and strengthen international partnerships.

Goyal said that Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) play a key role in India’s development and will help in making India a developed nation. He mentioned that the government has introduced several initiatives to support startups and new businesses, including a ₹10,000 crore fund for startups and a ₹20,000 crore investment in research and development (R&D) under the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF).

The Minister praised Pune as a leading industrial and technology hub, calling it the “Detroit of the East.” He appreciated the efforts of the Mahratta Chamber of Commerce, Industries, and Agriculture (MCCIA) in bringing together business leaders and to help India’s economy grow.

The two-day business summit will focus on new trade trends and business opportunities, building partnerships, and promoting innovation. More than 20 countries are participating, showing their trust in India’s growing economy.
