Bengaluru, Feb 12
The Future of Innovation Expo was launched on Wednesday as part of the Global Investors’ Meet in Bengaluru. More than 40 companies from around the world, including startups, are showcasing new technologies that could transform different industries.
Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar and Industries Minister M.B. Patil inaugurated the event. They visited various stalls, including the Karnataka Pavilion, Toyota, Embassy Group, State Tourism, and Drone Technology, to learn about the latest developments. They also explored new agricultural technologies that could change farming and medical innovations aimed at making disease detection and treatment easier.
Minister M.B. Patil shared that the expo features advancements in drones, space technology, farming, healthcare, manufacturing, aviation, and defense. Some key participants specialize in renewable energy, semiconductors, electric vehicles, and sustainable manufacturing. A special Karnataka Pavilion highlights the state’s achievements.
Major companies at the event include GE Healthcare, Hero Future Energies, River Mobility, Sarala Aviation, Galaxy Space, and Lam Research. Several startups, such as Queen City, Flying Wedge, Bellatrix, Skysurf, and Flux Auto, are also part of the Karnataka Pavilion.
In a big announcement, American company Lam Research said it will invest over ₹10,000 crore in Karnataka over the next few years. The company, which makes equipment for semiconductor production, signed an agreement with the Karnataka government to acquire land for its project. Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said this investment will strengthen the state’s role in the global semiconductor industry.
