The Flag Foundation of India, led by industrialist and philanthropist Naveen Jindal, has installed its 150th Monumental National Flag Pole in Patnagarh, Balangir, standing tall as a beacon of national pride.
Odisha’s Deputy Chief Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo and Balangir MP Sangeeta Kumari Singhdeo inaugurated the 108-foot flag pole and hoisted a giant national flag measuring 36-feet by 24-feet atop it.
Balangir Collector Gaurav Shivaji Ishlawar, SP Khilari Rishikesh Dnyandeo, Patnagarh Sub-Collector Amit Kumar Nayak, DRDA PD Prabhat Mahapatra, and Flag Foundation of India CEO Major General Ashim Kohli, along with senior officials from the local administration and students from various educational institutions, gathered with approximately 3,000 citizens to witness this grand event.
Singh Deo expressed deep admiration for the Flag Foundation of India and its efforts to install this national flag post in Patnagarh. He praised Jindal’s dedication to ensuring that every Indian citizen has the right to hoist the national flag with dignity. He urged the residents of Patnagarh to protect, preserve, and revere this monumental flag pole as a source of eternal inspiration for patriotism.
In her address, MP Sangeeta Singhdeo said, “This is a historic and significant day for Patnagarh. The national flag is our identity and pride. It unites us all. By hoisting it, we pay tribute to the martyrs of our freedom struggle.”
On the occasion of the flag installation, thousands of people from Patnagarh and nearby areas gathered to pay their respects to the national flag, with the police administration providing support for the event. The collective efforts of the Flag Foundation of India were widely praised.
There is a shared hope that this iconic flag pole will transform Patnagarh’s identity in the days to come, becoming a key landmark symbolizing national pride and unity.
Jindal Steel & Power President and Group Head (CSR) Prashant Hota coordinated the event and informed attendees that Flag Foundation of India President Naveen Jindal has been a steadfast advocate for every Indian’s right to hoist and display the national flag with pride and respect. Since its mission began in 2009, the Foundation has successfully established 150 monumental national flag poles across India, including seven in Odisha.
