An award distribution ceremony under the Instant Recognition Scheme was held at the Mechanical Shop Department of Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) on Wednesday.
The event was presided over by Shekhar Narayan, GM In-charge (Design & Shops), and GR Dash, GM (HR-CLC & Projects), who presented awards to 17 contract workers from various agencies engaged in the department.
Also present on the occasion were Sangeeta M. Sindur, Senior Manager (HR), other officers and employees from the department, as well as representatives from the contracting agencies.
The dignitaries praised the contract workers for their exceptional contributions and encouraged them to continue striving for excellence to help elevate the plant to even greater achievements.
The awards were presented in recognition of the workers’ involvement in the manufacturing of four V-Saddle pallets for the Hot Strip Mill-2 Department. The awardees played a key role in all stages of the process, from drawing preparation and fabrication to machining and dispatch of the spares to the user department.
Noatably, the V-Saddle pallets, produced by the Mechanical Shop, resulted in a significant savings of Rs 1.5 crore for RSP and also served as an important import substitute for the organization.
