Global IT giant Cognizant plans to open a new center in Hyderabad to expand its business, which will likely result in the creation of 15,000 new jobs.
Monday saw the completion of the one million square foot facility agreement following visits to the Cognizant leadership in New York by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu, who are now visiting the US.
The new building will be centered around a number of cutting-edge technologies, such as cloud computing, digital engineering, artificial intelligence, and machine learning.
The cornerstone for this agreement was set earlier this year during the Chief Minister and his delegation’s visit to Davos, according to the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) here.
The planned complex for the corporation will have space for 20,000 workers. This choice demonstrates Cognizant’s dedication to using Hyderabad’s strong infrastructure and large talent pool to serve its international operations.
Following a meeting between the Chief Minister and the IT Minister and a high-level Cognizant delegation led by CEO Ravi Kumar, the announcement was made. The talks emphasized Hyderabad’s strategic significance as India’s expanding center for innovation and technology.
Ravi Kumar was quoted as saying, “We are excited to expand our presence in Hyderabad, a city that continues to demonstrate its strengths as a technology and innovation hub,” in a CMO statement.
With the new facility, Cognizant will be able to better serve its clients throughout the world and keep providing cutting-edge IT services and consulting.
In addition to praising Cognizant for its expansion ambitions, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy emphasized the government’s commitment to creating a climate that is favorable for business services and IT.
“The expansion of Cognizant’s operations in Hyderabad is a testament of confidence in the city’s growing reputation as a global destination for technology companies,” stated the Chief Minister.
Minister Sridhar Babu emphasized the importance of this growth by stating, “Leading international companies are still drawn to Hyderabad’s thriving tech ecosystem.” The move by Cognizant to open a new location enhances our standing as a premier IT hub.
