Mahindra has introduced a new version of its popular SUV, the Scorpio-N, called the Carbon Edition. This special edition celebrates the sale of 2 lakh units and is available in the Z8 and Z8L models. It features a bold all-black design, giving it a stylish and appealing look.
Design and Features
The outside of the Scorpio-N Carbon Edition has been completely blacked out. Mahindra has replaced all the shiny chrome parts with black finishes, including the front grille, door handles, roof rails, and window trims. The alloy wheels, available in both 17-inch and 18-inch sizes, also come in black, making the SUV look more striking on the road. Inside, the cabin has been given a similar black theme, with a black dashboard, black leather seats, and smoked chrome accents. This makes the interior feel modern, sporty, and premium.
Powertrain Options
Even though the design has changed, the engine options remain the same as the standard model. The Scorpio-N Carbon Edition offers a 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine that produces 200 bhp and 370 Nm of torque in the manual version, while the automatic version delivers 380 Nm of torque.
This petrol variant is only available with two-wheel drive. The diesel variant has a 2.2-litre mHawk CRDi engine, which generates 172 bhp and 370 Nm of torque in the manual model and 400 Nm in the automatic version. The diesel version also offers an all-wheel-drive option for better off-road performance.
Technology
Mahindra has packed the Scorpio-N Carbon Edition with modern features to make driving more comfortable and convenient. It includes an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports wired Android Auto and wireless Apple CarPlay. There is also a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, a sunroof, and an electrically adjustable driver’s seat. Other useful features include dual-zone climate control, a wireless charging pad, ventilated front seats, a 12-speaker Sony sound system, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror. The SUV also comes with connected car technology, allowing users to control some functions through their smartphones.
Safety
When it comes to safety, Mahindra has made sure that the Scorpio-N Carbon Edition is well-equipped. It includes six airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, hill hold and hill descent control, four disc brakes, a tyres pressure monitoring system, ISOFIX child seat mounts, and a rear parking camera with sensors. These safety features, along with the strong build of the car, provide added protection for passengers.
Pricing
The Scorpio-N Carbon Edition is priced between Rs 19.19 lakh and Rs 24.89 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai). The Z8 models range from Rs 19.19 lakh to Rs 23.44 lakh, while the Z8L models are priced between Rs 20.89 lakh and Rs 24.89 lakh. This special edition costs Rs 20,000 more than the standard Scorpio-N models but keeps the same performance and safety features. The Carbon Edition is aimed at customers who want their SUV to stand out while still enjoying the strong performance and reliability of the Scorpio-N.
