BARBIL, SEP 18
ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel (AM/NS India) has launched an anti-dengue campaign in Thakurani village and various wards of Barbil Municipality to raise awareness and combat vector-borne diseases. The month-long campaign includes fogging, anti-larval spraying, and door-to-door distribution of informative leaflets.
The initiative kicked off with the flagging of the Dengue Awareness Mobile Van at Kara Basti by Babirani Mohanta, Counsellor for Ward-2, along with Mukesh Thawait, Manager of Thakurani Iron Ore Mines, and Arun Agrawal, Lead-CSR for Barbil. They were joined by community members, schoolchildren, and other AM/NS India employees.
Dengue poses a significant challenge in the area, and AM/NS India emphasizes that overcoming it requires collective community participation. The company prioritizes the health and well-being of its surrounding communities through its CSR initiatives under Project Aarogya.
Babirani Mohanta commended AM/NS India for its commitment to enhancing community health and well-being. She encouraged schoolchildren and community members to maintain cleanliness in their surroundings to help prevent mosquito breeding.
