Bengaluru, Feb 11

Adani Defence & Aerospace, in partnership with the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), has introduced a new Vehicle-Mounted Counter-Drone System at the ‘Aero India 2025’ event.

This advanced system is designed to protect against the growing threat of drones, which are increasingly used in modern warfare for spying and attacks. The new anti-drone system helps detect, track, and neutralize drones before they can cause harm.

Speaking at the event, Ashish Rajvanshi, CEO of Adani Defence & Aerospace, said that this launch shows the strength of India’s defence technology and the success of collaboration between DRDO and private companies. He emphasized that the system is a result of DRDO’s research and Adani’s ability to turn that research into a fully functional defence tool.

The system was officially launched by Dr. B.K. Das, Director General (Electronics and Communication System) at DRDO, in the presence of defence experts and industry partners. The new system highlights India’s focus on building its own defence technology instead of depending on foreign imports.

Key Features of the Anti-Drone System:

  • Mounted on a 4×4 vehicle – making it mobile and quick to deploy.
  • Long-range protection – detects and neutralizes drones up to 10 km away.
  • Advanced technology – uses radar, cameras, and electronic sensors to track drones.
  • Multiple defence mechanisms – includes a laser system for precise attacks and a 7.62 mm gun for aerial threats.
  • Real-time response – quickly identifies and disables drones to protect key locations.

Dr. Das highlighted that this system is an important step in strengthening India’s defence. He explained that the system’s mobility and quick response make it highly effective in dealing with drone threats. He also said that DRDO will continue working with Indian industries to develop advanced defence technologies.

This launch marks a major step forward in India’s defence preparedness, ensuring that the country can better protect itself from drone attacks. With this innovation, India is moving closer to self-reliance in defence technology while improving national security.
