PARADIP, SEP 26
In a commendable display of swift action, two disabled fishing boats stranded due to rough weather were successfully rescued and towed to safety by the Paradip Port Authority (PPA) on Thursday. The boats were safely brought into the Paradip harbour following a coordinated rescue operation led by the PPA tug boat Tarini.
The incident came to light after a request was made by DSP Paradip and AFO from Kujang. Responding immediately, PPA deployed the tug boat Tarini, along with the pilot boat Jagannath and patrol boat Saanvi, to aid the fishing vessels in distress.
Both boats, which had fouled propellers, have since cleared their mechanical issues and are now safely docked inside Paradip harbour. They are expected to resume their journey back to sea soon.
